Somebody will always think you are crazy
Ever felt like everyone thinks you are crazy?
So what if someone thinks you are crazy, someone else thinks you are brave, brilliant, devoted, mean, moody. There's a crowd waiting to pinpoint all of our actions that don't jive with their status quo way of thinking.
If there's something crazy on your heart, ask God, did you put this there? If God put it there, it doesn't matter what the world thinks of it.

| BC, before crazy (there were still those with suspicions that we had some crazy going on:) |

| Crazy means a child without parents can find a soft place to land, and even crazier is how much she was loved from the instant we met her. |
![]() |
| crazy sometimes means we have to STRETCH to make things happen |
![]() |
| crazy is how it feels as two become squeezed as four on a swing |
![]() |
| crazy is letting your son come home from surgery and ride his tricycle, crazy is that his surgery was completely free, so is his speech therapy, and eventually his braces on his teeth are free |
![]() |
| Crazy is taking your kids to a museum and staying there about 4 hours, everyone on their best behavior all looking out for each other. |
![]() |
| Crazy is eating your pie even with two hungry boys almost diving in it |
![]() |
| Crazy is there's still more room at this little table, more frosting in every can, and plenty more cookies to make |
![]() |
| Crazy is feeling in love with two boys who want to be just like you. Crazy...that's how we roll! |

Correction...discipline..God's mercy for us.
Today I was driving home admiring much of the farm land that is still left near my suburban home. I have watched this land, and hoped that most of it would stay ruralish, wooded, and pasture land. I even wrote to our city council asking that much care be given when making decisions on the kinds of businesses that would be allowed to build there. Mind you, I have absolutely no pull, just felt passionate enough to write a letter about this beautiful piece of land.
Well thanks to the economy and the bottom dropping out of the housing market, this land sits undisturbed for now. This morning, I watched as three "teenage" white tail deer hopped over the fallen brush, and came close enough to the clearing for me to see their game of chase. What a great gift! Seriously, if the economy was still booming, we'd have another Taco Bell right where I saw the beauty of God's correction and discipline.
So tonight we delight in eating from the pantry, instead of takeout. We find left over frozen herbs from the summer, open the bag, smell the basil and mint. Make hot tea, instead of going to Starbucks. Wear a soft old sweatshirt I found when I cleaned out the closet. Finding lost photos that had been in storage for three years. Dream of warm days, watch the tube. So many things to do right here where we are.
God's correction to the economy may dampen our spirits if we count how much money we don't have. But for me, I hope I see those deer again tomorrow.
